I wish everybody would have to have an electric thing implanted in our heads that gave us a shock whenever we did something to disobey the president. Then somehow I get myself elected president. –Jack Handey
I went out early in the WPT qualifier so nobody has to worry about watching my ugly mug on television. Oh well. To be honest, I wasn’t really into it and may have sabotagued myself with a bad all-in. Instead of just 2000 players competing for 1 WPT spot, it was over 2600. No second prize. In terms of EV, it was such a long shot that I was not looking forward to spending 4 to 6 hours playing NL and go out just short of the prize. Technically, it would probably be a higher EV to play a $100 NL tournament with payouts to 20th or 30th place and a top prize of $5k than it is to play a tournament, all or nothing for a $5k satellite entry into the WPT event.
I started off trying to do on Party what I just completed on Paradise. So far, things got off to a good start. I cleared $252 in my first session. I also had a 2+2 regular playing at my table so I was really watching his play and trying to avoid getting myself into a pot with him with marginal hands.
Let’s see how the rest of the 60 days goes 🙂
