Things look like they’re turning in our direction in regards to the online gambling bills before Congress but the Poker Player’s Alliance still needs your support. I spent some time on the phone today with PPA president Michael Bolcerek and he’s really pushing to get poker players to sign up as members. The PPA has passed the 100,000 threshold but isn’t quite at critical mass yet and could use your support. If you have a poker blog, regular blog, or any type of website please consider posting one of the banners below to encourage others to learn more.
The online poker sites are starting to get involved and if you make a deposit via Neteller over at Party they will offer you the opportunity to sign up as a PPA member. If you accept, $20 is sent to the PPA and you become a PPA member. But the best part is that Party kicks you back $10 into your account. For those of you who aren’t so quick with the math, that’s a $10 net to you for the PPA membership. At one time Party was offering $25 which means you could actually make money by becoming a PPA member but $10 is still a good deal.
If the PPA could wrangle a million or so members they could move from a defensive approach to an offensive approach whereby they might be able to influence tight elections. As many recent elections have shown, 10,000 in one district can certainly make a difference.
