Who’s Sending the Love?

Almost as important as what people read on Bill’s Poker Blog last year is who was sending them to me. Here’s the Top Ten Referrers for 2009 (excluding search engines):

Before I say anything else, just wanted to say thank you to the above sites and especially the folks on message boards who have posted links to things I’ve written hear. It’s very much appreciated and you have some karma coming your way.

In analyzing the list I was somewhat surprised that our friends Wicked Chops Poker didn’t make it in the top ten (they placed 12th). I was also surprised to see Brave New World Traveller on the list but after some digging I see that they linked to the site in an article discussing ways to make money while you’re on the road and playing online poker was one of their suggested ways of making some cash. Another surprise was Pirate Bay but they have linked to some posts like Proof That Online Poker is Rigged which seems to have generated a lot of positive traffic from their message boards.

Some might be surprised to see Poquer Red on the list (I wasn’t) as the site is mainly in Spanish but they’ve been very generous with their link love to articles I’ve written. Often they’ll translate relevant passages for their readers who don’t speak English which is cool.

The rest of the list is pretty much what one might expect with sites like Two Plus Two, Dr. Pauly, Pokerati, and such taking prominent traffic sending positions.

To everyone who has linked to something they like that I’ve written here, thanks for your encouragement and support. I’ll try to keep writing stuff you want to link to in 2010 as well.
