Bluff Magazine has recently released their Power 20 of 2011. Like my amigo, F-Train, I and 100 other voters were asked to submit votes for who we thought were, as of this moment, the most influential people in poker.
I’m going down the list right now and it looks like 18 out of my 20 made the cut. The rankings themselves are nothing like my ballot though the ranking was so difficult to begin with. I took the rankings literally which means I tried to rank people strictly on their “power” within the industry. In other words, can they make stuff happen? With some it’s a no-brainer. If you run one of the large poker rooms then your decisions can impact millions of players. That’s power. That’s also why some of the behind the scenes people ranked highly. They might not be known to the general public but if you want to put on a television broadcast or run a big event you’ll probably have to go through them at some point.
Anyway, no real point to this post other than to point you to the 2011 rankings over at Bluff Magazine and to say thanks to Bluff for inviting me to cast a ballot in this year’s voting.
