According to eGaming Review the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) has suspended Full Tilt’s gaming license. There’s nothing on the AGCC website at the moment but according to EGR the AGCC made the following statement.
“The decision to suspend these licenses follows a special investigation prompted by the indictments unsealed by US Attorney General’s Office in the Southern District of New York on 15th April 2011, during which grounds were found to indicate that these licensees and their business associates were operating contrary to Alderney legislation.”
This is a huge, huge setback for Full Tilt and could possibly mean that FTP is toast. As much as I thought Full Tilt would never allow itself to be in this kind of position the last several weeks have really demonstrated how wrong I was on that.
I’m trying to log into FTP right now and it just hangs on the shuffling screen. Other reports are coming in via Twitter that all games have been suspended on FTP.
A lot of people are saying that this is it for FTP. That could be true. It will be very, very difficult for them to get a license with a reputable gaming commission if the AGCC has pulled the plug on them. But keep in mind that the AGCC said that they’ve suspended their license. That could indicate that if FTP gets their finances in order that the AGCC could reinstate their license.
I’m not saying that to give any false hope or make up for my bad call on whether players would get their money back. It’s just that many people will put two and two together and get five. There’s a very real possibility that this is the end for Tilt but it’s not a certainty yet. We need to hear an official statement from the AGCC and FTP.
