As recently reported, the DOJ has asked banks in the UK to turn over records pertaining to advising online gaming companies. Well it looks like those British chaps may have grown a pair of cajones and are recommending giving Uncle Sam the big old finger as it pertains to their request.
Alan Duncan, Shadow Trade and Industry Secretary, said: “There is growing suspicion that the US Department of Justice is using its muscle in a highly unpleasant manner, and is targeting financial institutions beyond their own shores in a way that cannot be justified. I hope the Department will stop and review its approach so that its behaviour doesn’t sour relations between us.”
Oh Snap! He said “highly unpleasant manner.” Those are pretty hard words coming from a UK official. This could lead to them “reluctantly” complying. That’ll show the DOJ.
